Remember that continuing education does not have to be provided by AFP or even approved by AFP to qualify. It just needs to concern treasury, corporate finance or accounting, ethics or economics and be above and beyond what you needed to know to pass the exam.
There are a lot of free webinars. All of the big banks seem to provide regular webinars to their clients – check with your bank rep. I believe Proformative.com and treasuryandrisk.com both provide free webinars. You can also check out the websites of some of the consulting companies, they also have free webinars from time to time. Check out Treasury Strategies and Treasury Alliance.
There a lot of ways to earn credits without having to pay for them but it does take some effort and leg work to find them.
